"...toilet paper is produced from the residue of trees cut down for other purposes. “Trees are not cut down to make toilet paper,” said Ms. Kuta of Procter & Gamble. NRDC spokeswoman Jennifer Powers disagreed: “The market for residues is considerable and is definitely part of the business decision to cut down trees.”" Funny stuff.

Hmm, wonder what the truth is here. Elsewhere, I've heard that one of the founders of Greenpeace now lobbies for B.C., Canadian foresters and contends that no trees are cut down specifically for paper products.

A good way to battle climate change is to use more wood, not less; by Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace.

Elsewhere, Dr. expresses concern over the politicization of Global Warming hypotheses. Dr. Moore said he is speaking out on this issue because “the last thing the world needs, in the midst of a warming trend, is for the Royal Society to cast a chill over science.”
