three things

1. Try not to be late on Friday
2. If you have a question for Rob, but you are shy and don't want to ask, you can give me the question and I'll ask him
3. I did not answer Erin's question today (sorry). The second mistake with the application of Nietzsche we heard is that Nietzsche despises the Master's cruelty.

My gut reaction is to wonder why we bother to defend a dead guy whose ideas may have contributed, however indirectly or unintentionally, to implementation of one of the great horrors of the 20th century. As a philosopher, perhaps he cannot be held complicit, yet his ideas were indeed cherry-picked for political ends.

Isn't this ONE of the main components of leadership that they will very often sell us what we want to hear in order to advance their agendas through public motivation? Since architect Albert Speer was taken to task for his roles in the 3rd Reich, I wonder if philosophers shouldn't use discretion when they seek to publish. His sister certainly seems to have.
